Lukes 9 Month Checkup

Luke turned 9 months old yesterday. I can't believe how quickly the time has flown! His doctor's appointment went well. They said they'll test for allergies at his 1 year appointment when they'll have to draw blood anyways. We'll check to see if he might be allergic to cats, dogs or birds. In the meantime, the pediatrician recommends vaccuming every day; yikes! I can barely keep up with vaccuming once every 3-4 days!

Luke now weighs a whopping 19 lbs 3 oz! And he's up to 28" long; quite a big boy! We're looking for a convertible carseat since he'll soon be too big for the infant carrier/carseat. (Which is okay by me; he weighs a ton when I have to carry him in that thing!)

We're starting with the finger foods now, even though he still doesn't have any teeth. He's having a lot of fun trying to feed himself; he loves those little Gerber puffs! He also enjoys sucking watermelon and fruit through his mesh feeder; that is a wonderful little invention!

He's bouncing in his doorway-mounted jumper and talking up a storm right now; he's got such a great and enjoyable personality! More later...

Luke is crawling & standing

About a week ago, Luke suddenly went from the army belly crawl to being up on all fours; you should see him chase our cats! And he just started pulling himself up onto whatever happens to be handy so he can stand. He's adorable and so proud of himself!

We have his 9 month checkup on Tuesday afternoon, so we'll find out then how much he weighs. I'm also going to see about having him checked for allergies. He gets very congested, especially if I haven't vaccuumed in a few days. He also sneezes and rubs his eyes a lot. He's either allergic to dust or our cats.

Well... if we have to get rid of the cats, that will be that. We're also going to have him tested for dogs since we've talked about getting a chihuhua someday.

For Marty's first Father's Day, Luke wore a shirt that says 'Daddy Rocks', and Marty wore a shirt that says 'Rookie Dad'! Marty's such a great dad; he's a natural!

Luke's personality continues to develop. I have never seen a sillier baby! He takes after his goofy daddy... laughing and just enjoying life! We all have so much fun. We are so blessed!

Luke Studies the Grass

At 8 1/2 months old, Luke is very busy. He has mastered the belly crawl and can move very quickly. He loves being outside and is fascinated with the grass. He hasn't figured out that he can pull it out yet, which is good, because he would probably try to eat it!

What a Ham!

A teacher at Marty's school gave us a bunch of foam squares that connect and make up the entire alphabet. Luke loves crawling on them, pulling them apart and trying to eat them!
