Luke's First Tooth

Luke finally got his first tooth. It broke through yesterday. Poor baby... he's been so fussy. I know his gums are really hurting him. Tylenol and teething gel are our friends right now. It worked out rather well that he got his first tooth at almost 10 months old. He stopped nursing almost 2 weeks ago, so I never had to worry about getting bitten.

We had been nursing only in the mornings for the last couple of months, but as he became more aware of what was going on around him, he didn't have the patience for it. He simply weaned himself. He'd rather have a bottle so he can sit up and not miss out on seeing everything going on around him! Silly baby!

The great disappearing baby

The other day I decided to take a shower before Marty got home from work. I put Luke in his excersaucer right outside the bathroom door and left the door open so I could talk to him. The next thing I know, Luke is standing outside the bathtub pounding on the shower door. It scared me to death! I opened the shower door and he's standing there smiling up at me all proud of himself. Somehow, he got out of that excersaucer without hurting himself and crawled over to be near me in the shower. Thank God that Marty got home right then so he could grab the baby before he got into anything in the bathroom. We still don't know how he got out of there, but it looks like we've got ourselves a climber!

Making my own Babyfood

I've been making homemade babyfood for Luke and it's been more fun than I expected. Thanks to Anya and Dawn for all your help and thanks to my mother-in-law for getting me the food processor! So far I've made carrots, sweet potatoes and pears. I'm going to try applesauce next. Luke is eating everything I've made, it's good for him, and it's saving us a lot of money, too. I highly recommend it!
