A Wonderful Thanksgiving!

Here's a photo of Luke wearing his 'My First Thanksgiving' bib, which was an anonymous gift from someone at Hustead Elementary where Marty works:

We had such a great Thanksgiving with tons of family. Over 20 relatives got together at my parent's house and it was fun and mild chaos! All 6 of my siblings were there, and aunts, uncles and cousins as well as Marty's mom and step-dad and niece and nephew.

Late afternoon a bunch of us went for a long walk with the baby. In the evening, those that were still around watched the movie Aladdin. We celebrated a great day of blessing!

Then on Friday, Marty, Luke and I had a fun day with my mom, sister and niece. We ate brunch at Cracker Barrel, then went shopping at the Jeffersonville Outlet Mall. We saw Tim, Anya, Alanna and John there and later met up with my dad and brother. The baby was so good while shopping; the weather was beautiful and he enjoyed being outside and seeing all the festivities. It was a great day!

Luke weighs almost 12 lbs & got his shots

Our precious boy is now 8 weeks old and has gained 4 pounds since he was born! He's getting to be quite the little chunker, eats great and is perfectly healthy, thank God. He's also grown 2" since birth.

He received his first round of vaccinations, and boy, was that hard to watch. Our baby got 4 shots in his thighs and was screaming so hard! Once we got him settled, he slept for over 4 hours. Luke slept a lot yesterday, which is apparently quite normal after infant vaccinations.

The really awesome part is that Luke ate before bedtime at 10:30, stayed up until midnight, and then slept until 6:00 am! Marty fed him 4 ounces, then he slept until 10:15 am! I slept from midnight until 9:30 and it was such a blessing. The sleep has really helped me, because I've been fighting off a cold since last week, and I felt great today!

New blog continues our story

Well, I maxed out the storage space on my other blog, so I am continuing my posts and the latest information about Luke and our family on this blog instead.
